Taking Time to Chill
Hiya! We recently had the opportunity to spend a few days in Fiji, chillin (not sure whether that word applies when its 30 deg? :-) ). It was a lovely time to just relax, breathe & be refreshed. Above is a picture of the resort we stayed at, beautiful views, lovely pool, but the funny thing is, this is just a picture of a postcard & not a photo I actually took.
Here’s a picture below, I actually took…
When I look at this picture, I’m reminded of the warm weather, the lovely buffet breakfast, fresh pineapple, locally grown, freshly baked bread rolls, sweet strawberry jam, orange juice etc (you get the picture) I’m also reminded that after breakfast, I’ll be sliding into the warm water in the pool, soaking in the sun. I’ll remember the fragrance of the tropical frangipani blossoms… yes, almost like being there again.
My point? (no, not just to make you jealous), my point is, the postcard has a lovely view, but the experience of being in that place myself, added to my photo, almost like reliving the experience again.
For me, the ‘experience’ of being there had benefits beyond that moment.
In much the same way, for me creating can be like that. I utilise Pinterest, I love all those ideas, but a few years ago, I realised I was just ‘adding’ to my boards & not actually trying any of these ideas.
What’s the use if I don’t ‘experience’ the joy of creating?
And that’s one of the reasons I started M2K, so I could ‘experience’ creating on a regular basis & also help others to experience creating as well.
So check out our upcoming Creative Workshops & I look forward to seeing you, as we ‘experience’ creating together!
